The Municipality of Stanstead Township is looking for a citizen residing on its territory to sit on its Planning Advisory Committee. Made up of 5 members, including 3 residents and 2 elected, the function of the committee is to study and submit to the City Council opinions and recommendations on urban planning. The committee remains essentially advisory and not decision-making. Nevertheless, it plays a non-negligible role in the planning and development mission of the territory as well as in the conservation of the heritage of the village cores.

A monthly paid meeting is held every second Wednesday of the month. Citizens who wish to become members and participate in the work of the Planning Advisory Committee are invited to apply by sending your curriculum vitae and a cover letter to the attention of the Director General Josiane Hudon or by email to direction@cantonstanstead.ca  no later than January 11nd, 2021. Any successful candidate will be the subject of a recommendation to the municipal council which, as the competent authority, will make all decisions regarding their appointment, if applicable.

Training or knowledge in the fields of town planning, architecture, planning and design is an asset, but any other relevant experience will also be considered. 

Note that a candidate is ineligible to sit on a committee if the occupation of his job or his direct or indirect interest consists in the fact that he is a member, administrator or officer of a municipal or para-municipal body , a non-profit organization or an organization or company with which the municipality has contracts or is likely to have contracts or that a member of his family also has contracts.
