The Municipality is looking for citizens residing on its territory to sit on its Leisure and Culture Committee. The committee is composed of 5 members, 3 residents and 2 elected officials. The comity’s purpose is to study and submit to the Municipal Council opinions and recommendations on leisure and cultural matters. The committee is essentially an advisory committee and not decision-making. Nevertheless, it plays a significant role in the planning of many municipal activities.
Please note that the person that we are looking for must have the community’s best interest at heart and participating in its development. This means contributing your ideas and points of view concerning the municipality’s leisure and culture activities. Among other things this committee aims to improve ties with and within the community, contributing to the success of the municipality’s activities and Friends of Seniors initiative better known as MADA. Thus, giving the opportunity to play an active role in developing a sense of belonging to your community.
A monthly meeting is held every second Thursday of the month. Citizens who wish to become a member are invited to apply by sending a letter of introduction, to agent@cantonstanstead.ca
Any successful candidate will be recommended to City Council who, as the appropriate authority, will make any decision regarding the appointment, if required.
