On March 18, the City Council had lowered the interest rate and penalty applicable to unpaid debts to 0% in order to follow the recommendation of the UMQ and give taxpayers a break during the health crisis.
We would like to remind you that this easing measure will end on October 23.
The interest rate will then be restored to 10% per year with a penalty of 5% per year, as decreed by the municipal taxation by-law.
This interest rate will then be applied on all municipal tax arrears and on the unpaid balances of all bills issued by the municipality.
